Honda Motor Co., Ltd., formerly known as Honda Technical Research Institute, was established in September 1948. In the 1960s, Honda started exporting cars to the United States and became one of the earliest Japanese car brands to successfully conquer the American market. In the 1970s, Honda introduced the popular Civic model, which became one of the best-selling models in automotive history. Nowadays, Honda is the seventh largest automobile manufacturer in the world and one of the most profitable. In the North American market, Honda controls nearly two-thirds of its operating profits. In addition, Honda has two joint ventures in China, namely "Dongfeng Honda" and "GAC Honda." GAC Honda was established in 1998, with two production plants in Huangpu and Zengcheng, with a combined production capacity of 480,000 vehicles per year. It produces various series of vehicles, such as the CR-V SUV, Accord sedan, Odyssey multi-purpose vehicles, and more. Dongfeng Honda was established in 2003, with three production plants and a strong research and development center. It mainly produces various models such as CR-V, Civic, Spirior, CIIMO, Elysion, XR-V, UR-V, INSPIRE, ENVIX, LIFE, X-NV, and M-NV. Honda has a wide sales and production network in the Chinese market, providing consumers with various high-quality automobile products.
