Peugeot Automobiles is an established European car manufacturer. The first car bearing the Peugeot name was introduced in 1889.
In October 1929, the 6cv Type 201 made its debut at the Paris Motor Show. It was subsequently renamed to a more concise "201". Peugeot started naming its car models using a three-digit system, with the middle digit being "0". The first digit represents the series, while the last digit indicates the model's sequence within that series. Peugeot later registered this naming convention as a trademark and has continued to use it to this day.
The current main models available for sale are the Peugeot 408, Peugeot 408X, Peugeot 508, Peugeot 2008, Peugeot 4008, and Peugeot 5008.
